Cartersville's Thompson to run in Sunday's Daytona 500

Cartersville driver Mark Thompson will make Sunday’s Daytona 500 his first-ever run in the Great American Race and his last-ever race.

A long-time veteran of the ARCA series, four Xfinity Series races and two Cup races, Thompson will drive the 40th car in the 40-car race and at 66 years old will be the oldest competitor in the history of Daytona.
