Cartersville soccer teams sweep Darlington

The 9th-ranked Cartersville boys soccer defeated visiting Darlington Wednesday night 3-0.

Brady Craig put the Canes ahead with an early first half goal and Pedro Ghanem added a pair of second half goals — one off an assist from Grant Farmer.

Cartersville keeper Ethan Eckert earned the shutout in net.

Cartersville (3-3) plays at 7th-ranked Northwest Whitfield Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

CARTERSVILLE GIRLS 10, DARLINGTON 0

The Lady Canes blew out visiting Darlington Wednesday evening 10-0 with keeper Kalli Scheff earning the shutout.

Kalyn Donegan finished with a hat trick and Janet Zazuetta added two goals for Cartersville. Courtney Rhea, Linet Chege (penalty kick), Marissa Mowry, Rebecca Hays, and Ansley Roper added one goal each.

Darlington slipped to 0-4 on the season.

The Lady Canes (3-2) travel to Class AAAA 9th-ranked Northwest Whitfield Friday at 5:30 p.m.
