Woodland tops Coosa with six-run fifth
The Woodland Wildcats struck for six runs in the top of the fifth Thursday evening as they came-from-behind to defeat Coosa, 8-3.
The host Eagles led 2-0 after one inning and 3-1 after two frames before Woodland scored a single run in the fourth to narrow the margin to 3-2 heading into the decisive fifth inning.
Ben Ammons got the complete game pitching win for the Wildcats. He allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks. He hit one batter and fanned one.
Jordan Lee had two hits including a double and one RBI for Woodland. Nick Baley doubled and drove in a run. Bailey Ward and Garrett Cornett each had one hit and one RBI. Marco Haro had an RBI with a sacrifice and Toby Queen had one RBI for the Wildcats.
Woodland (1-2) hosts South Paulding and Central-Carroll Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
