Women's SEBL moves into playoffs


Regular season games for the 2018 Women's SEBL wrapped up Thursday night with a trio of games and will now move into its post-season playoffs.


Elite 77-Lady Dynasty finished the regular season with an undefeated mark and will be the top seed in the playoffs.

 

WSEBL Women’s Game Summaries for 8-2-18:


Elite-77/Lady Dynasty 57 Flex Nation 42 Elite-77 completed the run of the table, finishing undefeated and taking the WSEBL Regular Season Title, after breaking open a close game in the second half to pull away on the strength of a pressing defense and the perimeter shooting of Re’Tavia Floyd, who dropped four treys in the game. Rachel Irby led Flex with 10 in the game. Floyd finished with 19, for Elite-77 (7-0), while Taya Gibson had 14 and Tanisha Woodard nine. Madison McKinney also netted seven for Elite, who shot a very solid 21 of 47 from the field overall in the contest. Flex, who finishes the season at 2-5, was 14 of 39 combined from the field.


RAK 59 Lady Lions 52 RAK picked up the exhibition win over the Lady Lions, who suffered from roster-loss due to members having to report back to school. The Lady Lions borrowed a few players to play the game though, and a good game it was. Lochlain Corliss poured in 27 points in the loss, while borrowed players Keke Williams and Ariel Anderson helped with 15 and 11, respectively. The Lady Lions, unfortunately will not be able to participate in the WSEBL Playoffs and see their season come to a close. For RAK, Ashton Sutton had 14 on 6 of 11 shooting from the field, while Bethany Headrick had 12 and Chandler Sutton made all five of her shot attempts for 10 on the night. Tess Wright also tallied 10 for RAK, who at 6-1, enter the playoffs as the #2 seed. They will play Baseline-3 in the semi-finals on Sunday at 4:00pm.


Summer Hill-3 54 Baseline-3 44 Chris Banks downed 18 points to lead Summer Hill-3 to a feel good win over Baseline-3. Ariel Anderson and Keke Williams combined to get 21 points, for Baseline-3, while Melissa Winters tallied nine. Carlee Bragg also had nine for Summer Hill-3
