Lady Canes drop matches at season-opening tourney

The Cartersville High School volleyball team opened the 2018 season at the Sequoyah Classic in Cherokee County Friday and Saturday.

Cartersville dropped straight set matches to North Cobb Christian (25-7, 25-20) and North Forsyth (25-19, 25-17) and fell in three sets to Kell (set scores not reported).

The Lady Canes are scheduled to host Rockmart on Tuesday at 5 p.m. and will entertain Northwest Whitfield, Cherokee, and Bremen in a quad-meet Thursday that also begins at 5 p.m.
