Local recreation youth football capsules for September 13 and 15

Games reported for Thursday, September 13 and Saturday, September 15 by the Cartersville Parks and Recreation Department and the Bartow County Parks and Recreation Department.

September 13


10U at Hamilton Crossing Park


BARTOW STEELERS 21, BARTOW FALCONS 7

STEELERS: Kyron McClendon had touchdowns runs of 3, 18, and 50 yards and rushed for 140 total yards. McClendon and Malachi Harris had five tackles each. Ethan Baker had four tackles and a fumble recovery.

FALCONS: Korbyn Jarrett scored on a 4-yard touchdown run and had 54 rushing yards. Micah Pittman had four tackles.


BARTOW BUCS 22, BARTOW RAIDERS 0

BUCS: Dawson Holbrook had an 8-yard TD run and an 11-yard TD reception. Paul Lanier threw a TD pass and scored the Bucs’ extra points. Lorenzo Cotton Jr., Drake Bunce, and Eli Abell were credited with outstanding play on offense. Lanier had four tackles. Cotton recorvered a fumble.

RAIDERS: Joshua Love had six tackles. James Morris III contributed five tackles.



10U at Dellinger Park


CARTERSVILLE BLACK CANES 6, CARTERSVILLE SILVER CANES 6 (tie)

SILVER: Hagen Sharp connected with Jalen Watkins for a 15-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. PAT failed. Tyon Coe, Cooper Melvin, and Andrew Cox were credited with top defensive performances.

BLACK: Lyle Woody tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Will Camp in the first quarter. PAT failed. Kamdyn Woods, Hudson Lusk, and Camp were credited with top defensive performances.


CARTERSVILLE WHITE CANES 28, CARTERSVILLE PURPLE CANES 0

WHITE: Reed Ezell had rushing touchdowns of 26 and 30 yards. Trenton Harris had a fourth quarter touchdown run. Asa Mitcham made two PAT kicks. Ezell, Mitcham, and Collier Jordan were credited with top defensive performances.





September 15



10U at Dellinger Park


BARTOW TIGERS 22, CARTERSVILLE BLACK HURRICANES 7

TIGERS: Richard Barton ran for two touchdowns including a 40-yard TD run. Jaden Daise had an 8-yard TD run. Drew Nida completed a 50-yard TD strike to Barton. Barton led the defense with four tackles and an interception.

BLACK: Lyle Woody threw a 32-yard TD pass to Jackson Montgomery. Demontre Cochran rushing PAT. Jayden Newman, Brayden Channell, and Kamdyn Woods were credited with top defensive performances.



10U at Hamilton Crossing Park


CARTERSVILLE SILVER HURRICANES 19, BARTOW STEELERS 0

SILVER: Bodie Brumlow scored on a 12-yard run. Cooper Melvin scored on a pair of 20-yard touchdown runs. Silver converted two of three PATs. Melvin, Noah King, and Matthew Cook were credited with top defensive play.

STEELERS: Jayden Metcalt had six tackles.



8U at Hamilton Crossing Park


BARTOW TIGERS 26, BARTOW STEELERS 0

TIGERS: Kameron Hosey had touchdown runs of 4 and 12 yards. Jackson Jarrett scored on touchdown runs of 33 and 65 yards. Noeah Roberts had eight tackles.

STEELERS: Nathaniel Jones had five tackles.


BARTOW COWBOYS 26, BARTOW FALCONS 12

COWBOYS: Anthony Moreno had touchdown runs of 45 and 20 yards. Nigel Whitaker scored on a 50-yard run. Kasey Jacobs had an 85-yard touchdown run. Nicholas Robinson and Moreno had four tackles each.

FALCONS: Gary Douglas had a 35-yard touchdown run. William Nachtsheim scored on a 2-yard run. Douglas made five tackles.

September 15


9U BARTOW BLUE 31, TRION BULLDOGS 0

at Trion High School

BARTOW BLUE: Jovani Bautista Jackston scored on touchdown runs of 60 and 50 yards. Kaiden Kent had a 30-yard TD run. Lance Tippett Jr. connected on a 50-yard TD pass to Jeremy Dent Jr. Jakez Baldwin had four tackles and recovered a pair of fumbles. Maddox Raughton and Gatlin Fair contributed three tackles each.

Bartow Blue 9U improved to 3-0. Trion slipped to 0-2. Bartow 9U plays at LaFayette Saturday at 12 noon.



12U BARTOW BLUE 14, CHICKAMAUGA TROJANS 2

at Gordon Lee High School

BARTOW 12U: Xavior Darby scored on a 12-yard touchdown run. Kelson Mitchell added a 5-yard touchdown run. Clifton Parker finished with seven tackles. Ethan Brown had four tackles and two interceptions. Jamarian Pullum made a tackle and picked off a pass. Grayson Dysart had an interception. Eddie Boggs had three tackles and recovered a fumble. Bartow 12U improved to 2-1. Chickamauga falls to 1-2. Bartow 12U Blue plays at LaFayette this Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
