Canes hold down No. 2 spot with GSWA, slip to No. 4 in AJC rankings


Cartersville football remains ranked No. 2 in the latest release of the Georgia Sports Writers Association high school football polll released on Tuesday. Blessed Trinity is the unanimous choice for No. 1 in the GSWA Class AAAA poll. In the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Hurricanes slipped one spot from third to fourth with the recent surge of St. Pius X who has started 5-1 with recent wins over Marist and Loganville. The Lions' only loss was in a season-opening game to Blessed Trinity, 35-13.
