Local recreation youth football capsules for October 22-23

Games reported for Monday, October 22 and Tuesday, October 23 by the Cartersville Parks and Recreation Department and the Bartow County Parks and Recreation Department.

 

October 22

8U at Hamilton Crossing Park


BARTOW COWBOYS 26, BARTOW FALCONS 13

COWBOYS: Mitchell Raughton completed a 42-yard touchdown pass to Kasey Jacobs. Bryce Patterson scored on a 24-yard run. Anthony Moreno had a 14-yard touchdown run. Nigel Whitaker converted a two-point run. Rylee Phillips returned an interception 22 yards for a touchdown and added two tackles. Raughton had four tackles. Thomas Duncan and David Brawner both had two tackles and a fumble recovery each. FALCONS: Noah Janssen had touchdown runs of 65- and 22-yards. William Nachtsheim, Daieson Moore, and Brenlee Smith had three tackles each.


CARTERSVILLE GOLD CANES 32, BARTOW STEELERS 0

GOLD: Rhett Baxter scored five touchdown on runs of 47-, 42-, 40-, 35-, and 2-yards. He added a two-point conversion run. Carter Hale and Baxter had three tackles each.

STEELERS: Nathaniel Jones had eight rushing yards and led the defense with seven tackles. Malachi Milligan and Gavin Nale had four tackles apiece.



8U at Dellinger Park


CARTERSVILLE WHITE CANES 34, BARTOW COLTS 8

WHITE: Solomon James scored on touchdown runs of 20-, 40-, and 79-yards. Prince Jacobs had touchdown runs from 20- and 30-yards and added a two-point conversion run. Tristan Hall added a 40-yard touchdown run. James was the defensive leader and recovered a fumble.

COLTS: Karson Darby ran for the Colts touchdown. Kaedyn Morrow was the defensive standout.


CARTERSVILLE PURPLE CANES 14, BARTOW TIGERS 13

PURPLE: Braylen Clever had a 50-yard touchdown run and a pair of one-point PATs. Timothy Coe had a 20-yard touchdown run. Braxton Mealer was the defensive standout.

TIGERS: Jackson Jarrett had a 10-yard touchdown run. Noah Roberts had a five-yard touchdown run and had a one-point PAT. Jarrett was also noted as the defensive standout.



10U at Cunningham Stadium, Old Cass HS


CARTERSVILLE PURPLE CANES 20, CARTERSVILLE SILVER CANES 8

PURPLE: Giovanni Banks had a four-yard touchdown run. Cole Henson caught a four-yard touchdown pass. Zachary Stiles had a 15-yard scoring run. Stiles and Pyerston Brigham were the leading tacklers.

SILVER: Jaylon Watkins scored on a 10-yard run. Noah King had seven tackles.


CARTERSVILLE WHITE CANES 40, BARTOW TIGERS 8

WHITE: Reed Ezell had touchdown runs of 68- and 40-yards, completed a 34-yard touchdown pass to Asa Mitcham and a 35-yard touchdown to Thomas Smith. Trenton Harris added a four-yard touchdown run. Mitcham made all his two-point PAT kicks. Liam Lujans had ten tackles and two fumble recoveries. Ezell had six tackles. Adam Reed and Luke Gore also had key defensive plays and sacks.​​

TIGERS: Drew Nida connected with Ethan Hendley for a touchdown pass. Brad Barton Jr. led the defense with four tackles.

October 23

12U at Dellinger Park


CARTERSVILLE WHITE CANES 18, CALHOUN YELLOW JACKETS 0

WHITE: Brodie McWhorter tossed a 22-yard touchdown pass to Talan Nix. Jakeveon Porter scored a 32-yard rushing touchdown. Logan Shrewsbury scored on a 62-yard return of a fumble. Landen Heath and Shrewsbury were defensive standouts.

CALHOUN: The Yellow Jackets were led defensively by Kristyane Gregory.


CALHOUN HURRICANES 8, CARTERSVILLE GOLD CANES 0

CALHOUN: Skylar Garrett scored the game’s only touchdown on a 77-yard run and Calhoun converted a two-point PAT kick. Garrett Hasty was the defensive standout for Calhoun. GOLD: Baylon Long was the top defensive player.



12U at Dalton High School


CARTERSVILLE PURPLE CANES 28, DALTON 0

PURPLE: Khristian Lando scored on touchdown runs of 55-, 55-, and 12-yards. Stephen Rowser added a 70-yard rushing touchdown. Brelace Williams completed a pair of two-point conversion passes to Asa Shepard who finished with 60 yards in receptions. Isaiah Livsey had 14 tackles including four for loss. Logan Woods had seven tackles, two for loss, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Braydon Pope had four tackles and an interception with a nine-yard return.

DALTON: Kendrix London had seven tackles and one interception. Emmanuel Quintaro and Zion Broome had six tackles each. Two of the Quintaro tackles were for loss.
