Cartersville third at Calhoun meet
The Cartersville swim team placed third and Cass was fifth Thursday in a five-team meet at the Calhoun Aquatic Center.
Calhoun won the meet with combined scores of 607. River Ridge placed second with 524 points. Cartersville (306) was third, Northwest Whitfield (269) was fourth, and Cass (110) was fifth.

On Tuesday, the Cass girls edged Dawson County and Southeast Whitfield in a tri-meet at the Adairsville High School pool.
Southeast Whitfield won the combined scores with 167. Dawson County was second at 154.5, and Cass was third with 129.5 points.
In the girls’ portion of the meet, Cass was first with 79.5 points. Dawson County had 70.5 points. Southeast Whitfield finished with 68.
The Southeast boys (99) finished ahead of Dawson County (84) and Cass (50).
