Tigers drop region contest at Haralson


Haralson County scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Tuesday night to break open a close game and defeat Adairsville 9-4 in a Region 6-AAA contest.


Adairsville went ahead 3-2 in the fourth inning, but the host Rebels regained the lead in the fifth with two of their own prior to their five-run outburst in the sixth. Lane King (6.1 IP, 4R, 3ER, 7H, 2BB, 7K) was the winning pitcher for the Rebels. He worked into the seventh before giving way to Landan Malone (0.2 IP, 0R, 0H, 1BB, 1K) for the final two outs. Tigers’ starting pitcher Noah Nation (4.2 IP, 4ER, 4H, 3BB, 9K) was tagged with the loss on the mound. Braden Powell (0.1 IP, 2ER, 2H, 1BB, 1K) and Wade Conduff (1 IP, 3ER, 5H, 1K) worked in relief for Adairsville.


Tucker Parrish had three hits including a double and two RBI to pace the Haralson County offense. Malone and Kaegen Williams added two hits each. The Rebels improved to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in Region 6-AAA. Evan Henry had two hits and one RBI for Adairsville. Elijah Padgett (RBI), Nation (RBI), B.J. Roper, Wade Conduff, and Jacob Ray contributed one hit apiece.


Adairsville (1-8, 0-3) hosts Sonoraville Thursday at 5:55 p.m. and travels to North Murray Friday.
