Chargers cruise past Andrew


Georgia Highlands College baseball won its second one-sided game in a row over Andrew College Friday night with a 19-2 win at LakePoint in Emerson. The Chargers won 16-7 at Andrew Wednesday to open the four-game conference series.


Friday night, GHC sent a dozen men to the plate and scored nine times in the second inning to take a big lead early. The Chargers also finished the night with five home runs. Malik Spratling went 3-for-5 with a double, two homers, and six RBI. Blake Brady, Lavoisier Fisher, and Parker Orr also homered. Orr's homer was part of a three-hit game.


Dalton Rhadans (6.1 IP, 2ER, 10H, 3BB, 9K) started on the mound and earned the pitching win. Levi Ayers (0.2 IP, 0R, 0H) wrapped up the game on the mound for the Chargers.


GHC started the conference series Wednesday with a 16-7 blow out win at Andrew in Cuthbert.


Orr, Skylar McPhee, Keith Lyle, and Hunter Moody combined for 14 of Georgia Highlands’ 20 hits as the quartet drove in a dozen runs in the series opening win. Ethan Underwood picked up his first pitching win for the Chargers with five innings of work after entering in the third inning. He allowed a solo home run and one walk in the appearance while fanning five. Brant Brown, Dalton Rhadans, Trace Twardoski, and Logan Ward all tossed one inning each for Georgia Highlands on Wednesday.


The Chargers (25-17, 11-8) and Andrew (20-25, 8-11) will conclude the conference series Saturday with a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
