Woodland, Cass lose Friday games at Chattanooga tourney

Kylee Hembree doubled twice for Cass and drove in three runs. Lee also had a pair of hits. Alexis Woods contributed a double and one RBI. Eryn Lee, Ansley Hight, Kimberly Allen, and Kelly Young had the other Cass hits.

South Effingham scored in all four of their offensive frames to beat Cass 7-3 in five innings.

Haylee Johnson (5 IP, 3R, 2ER, 4H, 3BB, 5K) tossed all five innings for South Effingham for the pitching win. Hembree (4 IP, 7R, 6ER, 7H, 3BB) suffered the loss in the circle for the Lady Colonels.

Chloe Turner paced South Effingham with three doubles and three RBI.

Woods finished with a pair of doubles at the top of the Colonels’ order. Eryn Lee had a double and one RBI. Rachael Lee had the other Cass hit. It was also a double.

Cass (9-10) plays St. Pius and Class 3A top-ranked Calhoun Saturday.

Gordon Lee pitcher Emma Langston hurled a five inning, one-hitter to blank Woodland Friday night 9-0. She issued one walk and fanned six.

Kailey Baker had the only Lady Cats base hit. Lainey Baker (4 IP, 9R, 3ER, 7H, 3BB, 2K) suffered the pitching loss.
