Adairsville boys drop state tourney opener at Jefferson


The Adairsville boys basketball team had their season come to a close Friday night with a 75-46 loss at Jefferson in the opening round of the Class AAA state tournament. Jefferson, the champions of Region 8-AAA, were led by Daniel Parker, Kam Robinson, and Jacob Radaker with 18, 13, and 12 points, respectively. The host Dragons led 15-10 after one quarter, 36-21 at the intermission, and 67-36 through three quarters. Jefferson (19-7) advances to next Thursday’s Round of 16 and will host the Peach County / Pierce County first round winner. Adairsville, who was the No. 4-seed from Region 6-AAA, has its 2019-20 campaign end with a 12-17 mark.


The loss also marks the final game for seniors Gaven Crunkleton, Savaun Henderson, Malachi Gardner, Jonathan Jarrett, William Longmore, and Jaxon Welchel.
