Adairsville drops non-region decision at Darlington


The Adairsville Tigers stepped outside of Region 6-AAA play Monday afternoon in a final tuneup before the second rotation through their region opponents begins.

Squaring off with the Class A Private 7th-ranked Darlington Tigers in Rome, Adairsville started slowly and never caught up in a 68-57 loss.

Darlington led 22-7 after the first eight minutes and held a 46-30 lead at the intermission. The hosts continued their lead through the third quarter 59-38 and held on for an 11-point decision. D’marion Floyd led Darlington with 15 points. Jack Bell finished with 13 and Braden Bell knocked down four 3-pointers to add 12 points.

T.J. Printup, Jr. led Adairsville with 15 points. Tre Mitchell and Hayden Poarch added 13 and nine, respectively.

Darlington improved to 12-4 on the season.

Adairsville slipped to 8-7 with a 5-3 mark in Region 6-AAA. They have region home games against Ringgold Tuesday night and Rockmart Thursday night.
