Adairsville drops series opener to Ringgold

The Adairsville Tigers carried a 1-0 lead over the visiting Ringgold Tigers into the fifth inning Monday night but Ringgold struck for eleven runs and closed out Adairsville in five innings, 11-1.
Jarrett Scott (4.1 IP, 4ER, 4H, 2BB, 7K) started for Adairsville and pitched into the fifth inning when the Ringgold eruption began. Ryan Farr (3BF, 3ER, 3BB, 0H) and Kaiden Coker (0.2 IP, 4R, 0ER, 4H, 1BB, 2K) also pitched for the locals.
Peyton Bowen drove in Adairsville’s first-inning run with a single. PJ Weeks scored after leading off the bottom of the first with a double. Harrison Cole had the only additional Adairsville base hit.
Ringgold, ranked No. 6 in Class AAA, improved to 15-5 overall and 6-1 in Region 6-AAA.
Ninth-ranked Adairsville (11-6, 4-3) plays at Ringgold on Thursday at 5:55 p.m.
