Adairsville falls in battle of Tigers at 3rd-ranked Ringgold


Ringgold took a 4-0 lead through three innings Thursday and went on to defeat visiting Adairsville, 6-1.

Ringgold, No. 3 in Class AAA, added single runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings after Adairsville scored its only run of the game on an Elijah Padgett RBI double in the fifth.


Evan Sanders took the pitching loss for Adairsville allowing four earned runs on five hits and four walks. Sanders struck out three. Brenden Carroll entered on the mound in the third inning for Adairsville. Carroll allowed only one earned run on three hits and four walks. He struck out six.

Padgett finished with two hits and one RBI. P.J. Weeks also contributed two hits. Sanders, Braden Powell, and Chris Roper added one hit each.

Ringgold improved to 19-6 overall and 12-0 in Region 6-AAA.


Adairsville (7-15, 2-10) plays at LaFayette Friday and will host the Ramblers Tuesday.
