Adairsville girls celebrate senior night with a win over Pickens

The Adairsville girls’ soccer team built an 8-1 lead by halftime and finished off visiting Pickens in a 20-minute second half Tuesday night to celebrate their 2024 seniors with an 8-2 final score.

The Lady Tigers dominated possession in the first half and finished the night with 21 shots on goal.

Alivia Johnson scored four goals and had one assist. Sam Gough followed with two goals and two assists. Ella Edwards and Alexa Damer scored goals. Jordyn Hartline and Carly Edwards added two assists each.

The loss dropped the Dragons to 4-8 on the season.

Adairsville (12-3) hosts Woodland (9-2) on Thursday at 5 p.m. in a state playoffs tune-up match.
