Adairsville girls win low-scoring battle with Ringgold to earn state tournament berth
The Adairsville Lady Tigers won a low-scoring battle with Ringgold Tuesday night in the quarterfinals of the Region 6-AAA tournament at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, 37-27.
Adairsville led at each quarter stop and shut out Ringgold in the fourth quarter. The win not only advances the Lady Tigers to a region semifinal game Thursday night, but it also secures a state tournament berth next week.
The Lady Tigers led 11-10 at the end of the first quarter; 26-19 at halftime; and 33-27 at the end of the third quarter.
NaXyria Roberts scored 16 points to pace Adairsville. Analee Morris scored eight. Aliya McBryde contributed six points. Alissa Winters tossed in five and Megan Gregory added two points for the Tigers.
Brooke Baldwin led Ringgold (10-15) with seven points.
Adairsville (13-12) will challenge top-seeded host Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe in the region semifinals Thursday night at 7 p.m.
