Adairsville soccer teams fall at Bremen
March 14, 2024
The Adairsville girls soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision Thursday night at home to the Lady Devils of Bremen.
The Lady Tigers led 1-0 at the intermission on a 14th-minute goal by Ella Edwards. Alivia Joslin was credited with an assist.
Bremen scored twice in the second half to pull out the Region 6-AAA win.
Despite the loss, Adairsville coach Dave Sexauer saw some positives. “This was the best game of soccer we have played this season. We battled a good team, kept a lead for 40 minutes, and never gave up despite the heat and speed of the game. This game shows how much we have improved since last year.”
Adairsville keeper, Bethany Kilgore kept the Lady Tigers close. The Blue Devils took 18 shots.
Bremen improved to 4-4-2 on the season and 2-0 in region action.
The Lady Tigers (8-3, 3-1) host Gilmer in a non-region match on Monday.
BREMEN 3, ADAIRSVILLE BOYS 1
The Tigers fell to 3-4-2 overall and 2-1 in Region 6-AAA.
Bremen improved to 7-1-2 and 2-0.
Adairsville hosts Gilmer on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
