Adairsville softball takes down Model, 10-2


Adairsville senior Megan Gregory struck out six, earned the pitching win, and had four hits including a home run as the Lady Tigers defeated Model Tuesday night.

Megan Gregory earned the pitching victory and finished with four hits at the plate as the Lady Tigers beat visiting Model Tuesday evening, 10-2, in non-region play.


Gregory (3 IP, 2R, 0ER, 1H, 1BB, 6K) fanned six and did not allow an earned run in her three innings of work on the mound. At the plate, she had singles in the first, third, and fourth innings before smacking a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the sixth to finish with two RBIs. The homer ended the game by run-rule.


Jordan Clay (1.1 IP, 0R, 1H, 3K) and Chelsea Bates (1.2 IP, 0R, 1H, 1BB, 2K) also pitched for the Tigers in the win.


McKenzie Pullam had three hits for Adairsville including a double. Jenna Young (double, 2 RBIs), Annalee Morris (double, RBI), and Taylor Evans followed with two hits each. Halle Chason (2 RBIs), Brie Patterson (RBI), and Madison Baker (RBI) added one hit apiece.


The loss dropped Model to 5-10 on the season.


Adairsville (7-9-1, 2-6) returns to Region 6-AAA play Thursday at Ringgold in a 5:30 p.m. start.
