Adairsville softball wins at Armuchee

The Adairsville softball team captured a 7-4 non-region win Saturday at Armuchee in Rome. The Tigers took a 4-2 lead in the second inning and extended their lead to 7-2 in the fourth before holding on for a three-run victory.
Jordan Clay (5 IP, 3ER, 3H, 3BB, 2K) and Chelsea Bates (2 IP, 1ER, 0H, 1BB, 3K) combined for the Tigers in the pitching circle.
Jenna Young led four Adairsville hitters with two hits apiece. Young’s hits included a home run and four RBIs. Taylor Evans and Riley Mounger had two hits and one RBI each. Clay also finished with two base hits.
Makayla Wade (double), Brie Patterson, and McKenzie Pullam (double) had the other Lady Tigers’ hits.
The loss dropped Armuchee to a 2-7-1 record on the season. Adairsville (3-4) travels to Murray County for a Region 6-AAA matchup Tuesday.
