Adairsville track and field athletes advance to Class AAA State Sectional

The Adairsville boys’ track and field team finished third, and the Lady Tigers were sixth on Monday at the Region 7-AAA Championships hosted by Calhoun High School.


Heritage-Catoosa won the girls’ team title, followed by Calhoun and Gilmer. The Calhoun boys won the region championship with 210 points, followed by Heritage-Catoosa (155.33) and Adairsville (86) in the seven-team field.


The top four placers in each event advanced to the Class AAA State Sectionals at Jefferson High School on Saturday, May 2.


Sectional qualifiers for Adairsville:


First place

  • Cameron Jocelyn — 110-meter hurdles — 16.16

  • Cameron Jocelyn — 300-meter hurdles — 43.89


Second place

  • Brayce-Lynn Reynolds — Shot put — 34-9

  • Torron Hale — 400-meter dash — 51.00

  • Boys 4x400-meter relay — Aaron Souders, Cameron Jocelyn, Beau Hollimon, Cedric Nash — 3:42.27


Third place

  • Cedric Nash — Triple jump — 40-3.25

  • Torron Hale — 200-meter dash — 22.81

  • Girls 4x800-meter relay — Madison Marin, Fernanda Singer, Bella Smith, Kinzie Griffin —11:28.39

  • Boys 4x800-meter relay — Aaron Souders, Beau Hollimon, Michael Stanley, Luke Farmer — 9:28.69


Fourth place

  • Cedric Nash — High jump — 5-10

  • Cadence Caudill — Discus throw — 86-11

  • Torron Hale — 100-meter dash — 11.11

  • Aaron Souders — 800-meter run — 2:11.33

  • Boys 4x200-meter relay — Aaron Souders, Aiden White, Jayvian Carson, Bentley Bagley — 1:36.50
