Adairsville volleyball splits matches with Hiram, East Paulding
Adairsville volleyball split a pair of matches at Hiram Tuesday night defeating the host Hornets but losing to East Paulding. Both matches went the full three sets. Adairsville lost the opening set to Hiram 25-19 before winning the final two sets 25-10 and 15-3.
Richlyn Blair had five kills and four service aces for the Tigers. Kaylee Jordan finished with five kills and three digs. Lexie Childers contributed eight assists and four digs. Annie McCormick added four digs, three assists, and two aces.
Adairsville won the opening set against East Paulding 25-16, but dropped the final two sets 25-16 and 18-16.
Autumn Henderson had six kills, three digs, and one ace. Blair had five kills, one ace, and one block. Bailey Weaver and Madison Flemons totaled seven and six digs, respectively. McCormick contributed six assists, two digs, and one kill. Stiles had four kills and two blocks and Childers added five assists, three digs, and two kills.
“We played a little off tonight,” said Adairsville coach Kaylie Vaughn Martin. “We dropped a close one to East Paulding and reset our win streak. Hopefully this will give the girls the spark we need facing Coahulla Creek and Woodland next week.
Adairsville (8-4-1) hosts Coahulla Creek and Woodland Tuesday starting at 5 p.m.
