Athletes Beyond Bartow: Ashmore advances to Stage II of LPGA Qualifying School

Kingston’s Maggie Ashmore fired rounds of 68-70-73-69 — 280 last Thursday through Sunday to finish tied for 18th place in Stage I Qualifying School for the LPGA and Epson Tour.


Stage I Qualifying was conducted on the Palmer and Dinah Shore Tournament courses in Rancho Mirage, California


The 72-hole event had a 54-hole cut with the Top 100 and ties advancing to Stage II Qualifying October 18-21 on the Bobcat and Panther courses of Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida.


Ashmore, 27, turned professional in 2020 after her collegiate career at Augusta University. In six 2022 appearances on the Epson Tour, she has made one cut finishing tied for 21st at the Twin Bridges Championship. In her rookie season in 2020, she played in two events and made one cut.
