Bartow County 10U softball team wins GRPA District 5 championship
The Bartow County 10U girls' fastpitch softball team won the Georgia Parks and Recreation Association (GRPA) Class A/B District 5 championship earlier this week defeating Calhoun 16-1 in three innings to capture the title.

Madison Evans pitched for Bartow and struck out six to collect the victory in the circle. She also paced the offense by going 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, nine RBIs, and added a stolen base.
Sarah White was 2-for-2 with a triple, a double, and two RBIs. Mia Benitez finished 1-for-1 with a double and two RBIs while Harper Swancy walked three times and stole three bases.
The Bartow 10U girls advance to the Georgia GRPA State Championship Tournament June 20-22 at Sammy Haggard Park in Madison County. The locals will play the District 7 champion on Tuesday, June 20 at 6 p.m.
Team members include Mia Benitez, Kora Black, Rylee English, Quinn Eppers, Madison Evans, Addalyn Johnson, Emmy King, Caroline Owen, Harper Swancy, Linleigh Wade, Sarah White, and Lillian Wilson.
Thomas Johnson is the manager. Assistant coaches include Brad Wilson and Zeke Owen.
