Bartow County 8U coach pitch team claims GRPA District 5 title

The Bartow County 8-and-under coach pitch softball team won the Georgia Parks and Recreation Association (GRPA) District 5 championship this past Tuesday (June 13) in Gordon County by defeating Rome in the title game, 20-9.


The Bartow County team rattled off 25 hits in the championship game with every player in the lineup contributing at least one hit.


Evie Privett led Bartow with a 4-for-4 performance, including an inside-the-park home run, two doubles, and five RBIs. Livi Caverly (double, three RBIs), Charlotte Crumley (two RBIs), and Bella Rogers (double) followed with three hits each.


Audrey Benham (HR, triple, four RBIs), Addi Jo Reynolds (HR, two RBIs), Hallie Bell (two RBIs), and Lily Ragsdale contributed two hits apiece.

Sariah Daniel (RBI), Madi Foster (double), Dallas Hutcheson, and Brinley Weaver added one hit each.


Bartow County advances to the GRPA 8U Coach Pitch State Tournament that begins Tuesday (June 20) at the Gordon County Sonoraville Recreation Complex. Bartow’s first game will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. against the Rome/Carroll County winner.


The double-elimination state tournament continues through Thursday, June 22.
