Big nights at the plate, in the circle fuel three local teams to victories

The Adairsville Lady Tigers led 8-1 through four innings on Thursday night and held off visiting Northwest Whitfield 11-5 in a Region 7-4A battle.
Chloe Hill tossed a seven-inning complete game for Adairsville to earn the pitching win. Hill allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out nine. She also led the Lady Tigers’ bats with four hits, including two home runs and five RBIs.
Heidi Rickett (two RBIs), Ashlynn Durden (RBI), Lily Brookshire (RBI), Hynleigh Statham, and Sydney Satterfield each contributed one hit for Adairsville.
The loss dropped the Lady Bruins to 6-10 overall and 2-7 in region play.
Adairsville (14-6, 7-2) travels to Heritage-Catoosa on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

CARTERSVILLE 9, WOODLAND 1
Cartersville pitcher and recent Kennesaw State commit, Presley Crabbe, tossed a five-inning two-hitter, and the Lady Canes rattled off 14 hits Thursday evening to win 9-1 at Woodland.
Cartersville led 4-0 through three innings, and added on two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth to take a 9-0 lead. Woodland got both of their hits and scored a run in the bottom of the fifth, but failed to plate another run.
Crabbe allowed just one earned run on two hits and four walks. She fanned nine of the 20 batters she faced. Evelyne Tucker (5 IP, 9R, 6ER, 14H, 0BB) pitched the whole way for the Lady Cats.
Bella Kuykendall and Sonny Hicks had the Woodland base hits in the fifth. Daliyah Callahan drove in the Lady Cats’ run.
Carder Brock (two doubles, four RBI), Zoie Shiflett (home run, two RBI), Allana Williams, and Sam Porter each had two hits for Cartersville. LaKiaya Banks (solo home run), Izzy Tummins, Sophia Harper (RBI), and Taryn Bradley each added one hit.
Woodland (7-11, 3-7) hosts Villa Rica on Tuesday at 5:55 p.m.
Cartersville (18-2, 11-0) welcomes North Paulding (10 a.m.) and Lassiter (2 p.m.) for games Saturday at Dellinger Park and will host Cass on Tuesday.
CASS 7, DALTON 3
Natalie Hughes had three hits in four plate appearances, and Lily Powell pitched a seven-inning complete game on Thursday to lift the Lady Colonels to a 7-3 victory over Region 7-5A foe Dalton.
Cass scored two runs in the top of the fifth to grab a 3-1 lead, but Dalton evened the score in the bottom of the sixth. The Lady Colonels took the lead for good in the top of the seventh with a four-run rally.
Hughes’ three hits included a double and one RBI. Addy Bauder finished with two hits and one RBI. Lindsey Chubb had a double and two RBIs, and Kylie Gentry had a hit and two RBIs. Shyia Woods, Rilyn Caspari, and Kharmyn Collum each added one hit for Cass. Abagail Nails drove in one run.
Dalton fell to 2-12 overall and 0-9 in Region 7-5A.
Cass (8-5, 7-4) plays Ringgold on Friday and Gordon Lee and Coahulla Creek on Saturday at the Gordon Lee Invitational at Warner Park in Chattanooga. The Lady Colonels visit Cartersville on Tuesday at 5:55 p.m.
