Brumlow adds to resume; Lutjens, Coleman win Coosa titles

Cartersville amateur golfer Bodie Brumlow added to his growing resume of golf accomplishments this past weekend by finishing as a co-runner-up at The Dogwood Invitational held at par-72, 6,833-yard Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta.
The elite world rankings event was won by Carter Loflin, who recently completed his senior season at the University of Georgia and finished runner-up at the GSGA State Amateur Championship.
Loflin ran away with a 10-shot victory at 25-under par with rounds of 67-65-65-66. Brumlow (70-68-66-69, 15-under par), a UGA commit and rising senior at Cartersville High School, tied for second with Nateeshvar Anatha Ganesh of Loyola Marymount University. Brody Tidwell, also of Cartersville and a rising senior at Georgia State University, tied for ninth place (72-67-71-66) at 12-under par.
Past champions at The Dogwood have included future PGA Tour stars Webb Simpson, Hudson Swafford, Brian Harman, and more. Other former participants have included Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Matt Kuchar, Brooks Koepka, and Patton Kizzire.
CARTERSVILLE COUNTRY CLUB GOLFERS SHINE AT BILLY MAC INVITATIONAL

Several amateur golfers representing Cartersville Country Club performed well this past weekend at the 2026 Billy “Mac” McWilliams Invitational hosted by Coosa Country Club in Rome.
Andrew Lutjens, a rising sophomore at Georgia College, won the tournament with an 8-under-par total, including a final round 65 on Sunday. He finished four shots ahead of fellow Cartersville resident R.B. Clyburn (71-69), who was at 4-under par. Other CCC players in the championship race included Jake Wehunt (73-70), who tied for sixth, and Tevis Upton (74-72), who tied for 10th.

Dave Coleman from Cartersville won the Senior Division championship (77-70) by two shots over Mike Nance (73-76), a member at Barnsley Resort, and six shots ahead of Calhoun’s Hal Lamb (74-79).
Chris Hall of Kennesaw shot rounds of 70 and 67 for a 7-under-par total to win the Super Senior Championship by four shots over Tom Murphy (70-71) of Athens. Charles Wilson of Cartersville, who won the North Georgia Invitational Super Senior at Dalton Country Club on May 30-31, shot 71-73 at Coosa to place third.
