Canes 2nd at Allatoona All-Comers Meet

The Cartersville High School track and field team began its 2026 season on Saturday by participating in the 12-team Allatoona High School All-Comers Meet in Acworth.

The Cartersville boys scored 128 points to finish second, only one-half point behind host Allatoona. Cherokee (123.50), Heritage-Conyers (86.50), and North Paulding (73.50) rounded out the top five. The Lady Canes (67) tied for fifth behind North Paulding (111.50), Allatoona (105.50), Etowah (104), and North Cobb (78). River Ridge also finished with 67 points.

The Canes and Lady Canes had several top-five performances.

WOODLAND TRACK & FIELD COMPETES AT HILLGROVE SPRINT CARNIVAL

Members of the Woodland track and field team participated on Saturday in the 2026 Hillgrove High School Sprint Carnival with 13 other schools in Powder Springs.

Rowen Lee finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.62. Rylee Maxwell of the Lady Cats placed fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:40.92, and Jonathan Ringwell was fifth in the boys’ 800 meters in 2:13.02.

Woodland is scheduled to participate in the Purple Hurricane Invitational at Cartersville High School on February 28.
