Canes, Colonels earn Top Ten spots in final football polls

The 2025 high school football state championship games were completed earlier this week in Atlanta, and the six polling organizations in Georgia have released their final rankings for the year.
In Class 4A, the Creekside Seminoles finished off a 15-0 season and were the unanimous choice for No. 1 in the classification. Creekside defeated Benedictine 42-39 in the title game, and the Cadets (11-3) were the unanimous No. 2 selection in the final polls.
Cartersville was tabbed as No. 5 in the cumulative poll released by Georgia High School Daily on Friday. The Hurricanes were ranked as high as fourth by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Cartersville (12-1) received a fifth-place ranking from 680 The Fan, Maxwell, and ScoreAtlanta. The Canes were ranked sixth by Georgia Public Broadcasting and the Coach Georgia poll.
Cass was ranked ninth in the final 680 The Fan poll and was ranked tenth by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The Colonels (9-3) finished tied for 12th in the GHSFD cumulative poll.
Other teams in the Class 4A final cumulative rankings were No. 3 Marist (12-2), No. 4 Kell (11-3), No. 6 North Oconee (12-1), No. 7 Central-Carrollton (12-1), No. 8 Cambridge (9-3), No. 9 Blessed Trinity (7-5), No. 10 Southwest DeKalb (9-3), No. 11 Lithonia (10-3), and co-No. 12 Ware County (9-3).
The No. 1 teams in other classifications were Buford in Class 6A, Thomas County Central in Class 5A, Sandy Creek in Class 3A, Carver-Columbus in Class 2A, Worth County in Class A-Division I, Bowdon in Class A Division II, and Hebron Christian in Class 3A-A Private.
Buford, Thomas County Central, Sandy Creek, Carver-Columbus, and Worth County joined Creekside in completing 15-0 campaigns.
