The Cartersville boys' golf team added another trophy to the case Tuesday, winning the 2026 Chris Kirk Classic at Eagle Watch Golf Club in Woodstock in a dramatic tiebreaker against Cherokee.
Both the Canes and Cherokee posted identical team scores of 6-over par after combining the lowest four rounds out of six players. The tie was broken by the fifth player’s score, where Cartersville’s Ramsey Dunn carded an 80 (8-over) to edge Cherokee’s fifth scorer, who posted an 82.
The tournament victory marked Cartersville’s second first-place finish in the past four days.
Carsen Stanfield led the way for the Canes with a sparkling 1-under 71, while Bodie Brumlow followed closely with an even-par 72.
The Canes will compete again on Thursday in the North Georgia Invitational at The Farm Golf Club in Dalton.
