Canes, Lady Canes earn top finishes at OrthoWest Invitational; Adairsville boys 7th at Rocky Face

The Cartersville boys finished ninth of 51 teams and the Lady Canes were 11th of 39 teams competing Saturday in Carrollton at the OrthoWest Invitational.
The Cartersville teams ran in the Large Division of the event which attracted more than 130 schools in the Championship, Large, Small, and Late Divisions.
Malachi Vosburgh finished fifth in 16:24 to lead the Canes’ runners. He was followed by Barrett Stepp (20th, 17:18) and Kaleb Lanier (34th, 17:28). There were 347 runners in the Large Division.
Kylie Ham (94th, 23:03), Vivi Vest (172nd, 24:51), and Hadley Finnemore (180th, 25:01) were the Lady Canes’ top three runners. There were 272 runners in the division.
Next for the Cartersville teams will be the Wire2Wire Invitational hosted next Saturday, September 16 at Dellinger Park.
ADAIRSVILLE BOYS 7TH AT ROCKY FACE RACE
The Adairsville boys cross country team placed seventh of 17 teams last Thursday in Dalton at the Rocky Face Race.
Griffin Bozeman (17th, 20:08) and Aaron Souders (51st, 21:47) led the Tigers in a race that included 145 runners.
Callie Viktora, competing as an individual and representing the Adiarsville girls, finished fourth of 104 runners in 23:30.
Adairsville hosts the Adairsville Invitational on Thursday, September 14 at Manning Mill Park.
