Canes' rifles drop match with Cherokee
The Cartersville High School riflery team lost a match to Cherokee Tuesday afternoon at the American Legion Post 42.
Cherokee finished with 1079 points to the Canes’ 1020.
Cartersville sophomores Kaleb Wolfe and Noah Goodwin scored their personal bests in the match with scores of 258 and 256, respecctively. Freshman Caleb Adams (253), sophomore Taylor Buchanan (253), and sophomore Sheyenne Nelson (228) rounded out the Hurricanes’ scoring. The score for Buchanan was a personal best and included a kneeling score of 95 — the third best kneeling score in the Area this season.
The loss dropped Cartersville to fifth place in Area 10. The Canes’ rifles travel to Etowah Thursday.
