Canes runner-up, Lady Canes third at Wire2Wire XC Invitational

The Cartersville boys finished runner-up, and the Lady Canes placed third Saturday morning at the Wire2Wire XC Invitational held at Dellinger Park.
The Chattahoochee girls' and boys' teams won the event, which included 11 girls' teams and 14 boys' teams.
The Woodland girls placed seventh, and the Woodland boys were tenth. The Adairsville boys team placed 12th.
Cartersville’s Barrett Stepp won the boys' title in 16:33. The race included 114 runners.
Will Feuerbach (4th, 16:50), Kaleb Lanier (10th, 17:20), Hayden Mitchell (21st, 17:51), and Tripp Chitwood (22nd, 17:52) rounded out scoring runs for the Hurricanes. Ethan Empie (25th, 18:00), Carson Robinson (44th, 18:35), and Kyle Camper (67th, 19:24) also competed for Cartersville.
Juan Mendoza (5th, 16:53) led the Wildcats. James Morris (42nd, 18:33), Will Parker (70th, 19:27), Gabe Hardin (71st, 19:28), and Connor Cruz (73rd, 19:36) completed the top five for Woodland. Charlie Hennington (74th, 19:37) and Logan Marr (76th, 19:41) also ran.
Griffin Bozeman (27th, 18:05) was the top finisher for Adairsville. He was followed by teammates Johnathan Ringwell (40th, 18:28), Aaron Souders (92nd, 21:05), Owen Kelly (102nd, 22:56), Canyon East (106th, 23:33), Charlie Potter (108th, 24:18) and Logan Brown (110th, 24:26).
Helen Miller of Chattahoochee (19:22) won the 81-participant girls' race.
Sofia Burns (2nd, 19:25) led the Lady Canes. Teammates Kylie Ham (20th, 21:43), Jordan Hathaway (28th, 23:08), Genevieve Alessandro (29th, 23:12), Samantha Stepp (23:31), Hadley Finnemore (39th, 23:45), Lilly McSwain (45th, 24:21), and Vivi Vest (56th, 25:15) followed.
Allison Snead (16h, 21:26) and Miranda Pelow (17th, 21:33) paced the Woodland Lady Cats. Addison Brown (37th, 23:40), Abby George (54th, 25:05), Lily Hiott (59th, 25:37), Sophia St. James (67th, 26:46), and Katie Anne Jones (68th, 26:49) also competed.
Fernanda Singer of Adairsville High placed 51st in 24:43.
Cartersville runs next Saturday in the Wingfoot XC Classic, hosted by Atlanta Track Club at Sam Smith Park. Adairsville will participate in the Rambler XC Invitational on Tuesday in LaFayette, and Woodland returns to action on September 28 at the Darlington XC Festival.
