Canes runner-up, Wildcats third; Lady Canes take fourth at 15th Annual Run at the Rock

North Atlanta won the team competition with 32 points. Cartersville (77), Woodland (79), Creekview (83), and Kennesaw Mountain (126) completed the top five in the 12-team field of 112 individual runners at Saturday’s 15th annual Run at the Rock hosted by Woodland.
The Canes had all five scoring runners finish in the top 30 and the Wildcats had five runners in the top 25.
Sam Peters (5th, 17:12) led Cartersville followed by Levi Booth (13th, 18:11), Malachi Vosburgh (14th, 18:12), Cainen Crowder (16th, 18:20), and Paul Hyman (29th, 19:01).
Woodland was paced by Tyler Jones (4th, 17:04). McKinley Chappell (8th, 17:36) was next for the Wildcats. John Forsyth (19th, 18:38), Kain Tanturri (23rd, 18:47), and Landon McSwain (25th, 18:51) rounded out the Woodland scoring five.
Cass finished ninth and was led by a 35th place finish by Critton Gearhart (19:29). The rest of the top five for the Colonels included: Jake Wright (38th, 19:35), Adam Pierce (52nd, 20:16), Leonardo Galeana (61st, 20:52), and Sawyer Foy (65th, 21:21)
Ryan McKee of Kennesaw Mountain won 16:45.19
The Cartersville girls placed fourth of nine teams and were the only local team in the race. McKinsey Spinks (10th, 22:29) was the top finisher for the Lady Canes. She was followed by Kaylana Pennington-Brooke (18th, 23:35), Samantha Herrera (20th, 23:57), Elizabeth Nelson (26th, 24:26), and Meredith Gaines (27th, 24:27).
North Atlanta won the girls championship followed by Creekview and North Cobb.
Katelynn Dollar of Lyndon Academy won the individual girls race in 19:06.07.
