Canes split tennis matches with Model

The Cartersville girls and boys tennis teams split matches Thursday afternoon with the visiting Model Blue Devils at Dellinger Park. The Lady Canes earned a 3-2 victory while the Cartersville boys lost by an identical 3-2 final score.
CARTERSVILLE GIRLS 3, MODEL 2
Singles:
Line 1 — Emily Bush won 6-0, 6-0
Line 2 — Katie Lewis lost 5-7, 0-6
Line 3 — Madison Ferdon won 2-6, 6-3, 6-3
Doubles:
Line 1 — Mason Cline and Mia Shaw won 6-2, 7-6, 7-6 (7-3)
Line 2 — Anna Ramsey and Sofia Motuba lost 5-7, 1-6
MODEL 3, CARTERSVILLE BOYS 2
Singles:
Line 1 — Luke Gambill won 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (10-2)
Line 2 — John Paul lost 0-6, 3-6
Line 3 — Walker Cooney lost 2-6, 3-6
Doubles:
Line 1 — Banks Wilson and Brock Wilson lost 3-6, 3-6
Line 2 — Henry Tierce and Tom Bowen won 0-6, 6-4, 7-6 (10-8)
The Cartersville girls (4-2) and the Cartersville boys (3-3) will open Region 7-AAAAA play next Tuesday at Dellinger Park against Calhoun.
