Cartersville and Woodland cross country teams open seasons at Hoya 2-Mile

The cross country teams at Cartersville and Woodland started their running seasons on Friday at the 10th annual Hoya 2-Mile Invitational.


The race was conducted in multiple segments at Allatoona Creek Park in Acworth.


Top placers for the Cartersville girls were Sofia Burns (14th, 12:16.40), Adalin Empie (46th, 13:01.84), Kylie Ham (52nd, 13:11.86), Zoe McCurry (72nd, 13:32.10), and Sydney Burris (77th, 13:35.66).


Top runners for the Woodland girls were Allison Snead (42nd, 12:59.22), Rylee Maxwell (55th, 13:13.51), Millie Camp (100th, 14:15.27), Jette Julius (16:10.97), and Leilani Monroy (16:47.89).


Top placers for the Cartersville boys were Carson Robinson (35th, 10:30.05), Ethan Empie (50th, 10:45.82), Micah Sanders (76th, 11:06.19), Kyle Camper II (81st, 11:13.50), and Zachary Rosshirt (87th, 11:20.34).


Top runners for the Woodland boys were Jonathan Ringwell (10:59.50), James Morris (11:01.56), Charlie Hennington (11:50.56), Logan Marr (12:06,35), and Connor Cruz (12:09.59).


Cartersville, Woodland, and Cass will run next on Saturday at the Georgia Highlands Invitational in Rome.
