Cartersville and Woodland volleyball teams begin "Road to LakePoint" on Wednesday

Woodland defensive specialist, Lili Womack.

The “Road to LakePoint” and the Class 5A State Volleyball Championship Game begins on Wednesday with a pair of local teams in action.

The Woodland Lady Cats (13-26) will travel to Greater Atlanta Christian (30-7) for their opening round match while the Cartersville Lady Canes (28-17) will host Chattahoochee (10-24) at the Storm Center.

Both matches are scheduled for 6 p.m. starts.

Teams advancing to the second round will play on Saturday at the higher remaining seed.

The Woodland/GAC winner will play the Eastside/Villa Rica winner. The Cartersville/Chattahoochee winner will play the Jefferson/Jackson-Atlanta winner.
