Cartersville boys finish runner-up at Saturday's Purple Hurricane Invitational
The Cartersville boys track and field team finished runner up to champion Carrollton Saturday at the Purple Hurricane Invitational at Weinman Stadium.
Carrollton won the title with 167 points. Cartersville followed with 104 and Blessed Trinity was next with 82 points. Woodland (35 points) finished in a seventh place tie with North Springs at the 13-team event. In the girls meet, Carrollton edged Chapel Hill 99-98 to collect the team title. Woodland placed eighth with 39 points. Cartersville was ninth with 36 team points.
