Cartersville, Cass volleyball win Thursday night matches

Cartersville volleyball won a best-of-five match at Paulding County Thursday night in three straight sets while Cass picked up a regular season win at Adairsville.
The Hurricanes, now 13-8 on the season, dominated the Lady Patriots — 25-9, 25-9, and 25-13 for a non-region win.
Freshman Holly Dufrene had 12 kills for Cartersville. Addison Marisko and Ailee England followed with 10 and nine kills, respectively. Katelyn Shook contributed six service aces and Sydney Seigler had five aces. Aubree Barrett totaled 36 assists.
Cartersville plays in a tournament at Sonoraville on Saturday, opening with Kell, LaFayette, and Sonoraville in pool play.
CASS SPLITS ROAD MATCHES
The Lady Colonels split a pair of matches Thursday at Adairsville High School.
Cass outlasted the host Tigers 25-21 and 25-19 for a victory but lost to Sonoraville 25-10 and 25-17.
Jordyn Hartline and Addie Pearson had four kills each for the Tigers. Pearson also added seven assists and nine digs.
Adairsville also dropped a 25-23 and 25-21 decision to the Phoenix.
Cara Harp finished with six aces for the Tigers in the Sonoraville match. Hartline added six kills and seven digs. Sherry Wells added seven digs.
Adairsville (3-8) hosts Gordon Lee and Allatoona on Tuesday.
Cass (3-15-1) entertains top-ten-ranked Dalton and Hiram Tuesday in Region 7-5A matches.
