Cartersville fifth at GHSA Game Day finals

Cartersville High School’s Game Day Competition Cheer team finished fifth in the Class 5A/6A Division Saturday at the 2022 GHSA finals.

Cartersville qualified for the finals with 205.500 points and was fourth in qualifying.

In the finals, Cartersville placed fifth in the classification. Lee County won the competition ahead of runner-up Lanier. South Effingham placed third and Calhoun was fourth. Carrollton, Effingham County, Buford, and Wayne County rounded out the finals standings.

Woodland was 15th in the preliminaries and did not qualify for the finals.
