Cartersville golf team wins Class 5A, Area 3 title

The Cartersville High boys golf team won the 12-team Class 5A Area 3 Championship held Monday at Fields Ferry Golf Club in Calhoun.

The Canes fired a 308 team total and automatically qualified for the May 20-21 Class 5A State Championship Tournament at the par-72, 6655-yard Okefenokee Country Club in Blackshear.

The top four counting scores for the Hurricanes in their Area win were: Bodie Brumlow 72, Reid Lowry 77, Andrew Lutjens 79, and Noah Pogue 80.
