Cartersville golfer Bodie Brumlow captures GSGA High School Preview tourney title

Cartersville High golfer Bodie Brumlow won the boys’ division of the Georgia State Golf Association High School Preview Tournament held Monday and Tuesday at the Country Club of Columbus.
Brumlow fired rounds of 69 and 71 in the two-day event and won the individual title in a playoff over Asher Sisk of Johns Creek High School. Mackinnley Yarbrough of Carrollton shot 71-74 to place third.
In the team competition, the Canes shot 20-over and finished co-runner-up to Johns Creek (12-over par). Lake Oconee Academy also shot 20-over. Rivers Academy of Alpharetta placed fourth at 21-over par, and Carrollton rounded out the top five at 22-over par in the 12-team event.
The three other individuals representing Cartersville were Reid Henson (79-73), Carsen Stanfield (77-77), and Carter Rice (86-81).
Rivers Academy won the girls’ title with a 3-over par performance in the 36-hole event. Holy Innocents Episcopal was a distant runner-up at 19-over par.
Kailyn Black of Rivers Academy won the individual championship with rounds of 71-69. Molly Spector of Holy Innocents and Rebecca Lee of Rivers Academy tied for second at 5-over par.
