Cartersville gymnastics team runner-up at five-team meet

The Cartersville High School gymnastics team hosted and finished second in a five-team meet on Saturday, March 28, at Cartersville Twisters Gym.
Woodstock (98.900) won the meet, followed by Cartersville (98.400), River Ridge (95.200), Providence Christian (93.500), and Allatoona (86.900).
Emerie Elrod led the Lady Canes with a 9.000 on vault. She also had strong routines on beam (8.100) and floor (8.700). Sydney Jackson scored 8.500 on vault, 8.200 on bars, and 8.000 on beam for a solid all-around performance. Katy Grace Wolfe contributed across three events with an 8.200 on beam, and team points on vault and bar. Additional contributions came from Adalynn Weir (8.400) on beam and floor, and Kyndal Shook (8.000) on floor.
Ellie Kate Jones earned a 9.000 on vault, qualifying for the GHSA Gymnastics Preliminary Meet. She will join Elrod as an individual qualifier for the State Preliminary Meet.
