Cartersville Purple 8U wins GRPA District 5 Coach Pitch title

Cartersville 8U Purple Coach Pitch Baseball won the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association District Five championship Wednesday night at Westside Park in Whitfield County by defeating Summerville in the title game 12-3.
Cartersville 8U Purple went 4-0 to capture the title. They had earlier tournament wins over Summerville (3-0), Trion (13-0), and Gordon County (8-3).
The team advances to the GRPA State Tournament on June 24-27. Cartersville Purple 8U will play the District 7 runner-up in the first round on Tuesday, June 24, at Westside Park in Whitfield County.
