Cartersville riflery team drops match at Etowah
The Cartersville riflery team fell to Etowah Thursday night 1075-1029 in an Area 10 match in Woodstock. The Canes split season matches with the Eagles withe Cartersville winning at home last month in a close match.
Etowah’s junior standout, Zachary Mauriello, scored 281 and missed a perfect prone score by only one point. Kayla Thacker was second highest for the Eagles with a 278.
Cartersville freshman Caleb Adams led the Canes with a score of 259. Sophomore Noah Goodwin fired a personal best 256. Freshman Katerina Conley also had a personal best 254 while sophomore Kaleb Wolfe (253) and freshman Luis Rangel (229) rounded out the Cartersville scoring.
The Canes’ Rifles are now 2-4 in Area 10 competition and in fifth place. Cartersville will host Sonoraville next Tuesday before traveling to Dalton High School on Thursday.
