Cartersville softball blanks Dalton to open region slate

The Cartersville Lady Canes sent fifteen batters to the plate in the top of the first inning and scored eleven runs Tuesday night en route to a 13-0 road win in four innings.


Zoie Shiflett hit a first-inning, three-run home run and finished with two hits and four RBI. Kennedy Crenshaw (two RBI), Kinsey Woodard (double, RBI), and LaKiaya Banks also had two hits for the Lady Canes. Emilee Brinson, Addi Burns, and Miley Jo Williams contributed one hit and one RBI each. 


Presley Crabbe went the distance in the circle for Cartersville. She struck out ten of thirteen batters faced and allowed only one hit.


The Lady Canes (2-0, 1-0 Region 7-AAAA) host Cass on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
