Cartersville track and field teams compete in Douglasville; Cass teams at Dalton Invitational

The Cartersville boys finished third and the Lady Canes were fourth Saturday at the 10-team New Manchester Invitational in Douglasville.

The girls meet was won by Lithia Springs with 131 points. Host New Manchester was runner-up (119) followed by Douglas County (87), Cartersville (81), and Paulding County (70).

In the boys meet, New Manchester won with 154 points followed by Douglas County (114), Cartersville (101), Paulding County (93) and Lithia Springs (79).

North Paulding, Hiram, Osborne, Salem, and Fulton Leadership Academy were also represented at the meet.

COLONELS COLLECT WINS IN SEVEN EVENTS AT McCLURG / DALTON ROTARY INVITATIONAL

The Cass High School track and field teams won seven events Saturday at the Ronnie McClurg/Dalton Rotary Invitational hosted by Dalton High School.

The Colonels also had five second place finishes in events and one third place.
