Cartersville volleyball advances to region semifinals

Cartersville defeated Woodland, and Allatoona eliminated Cass Tuesday night in the opening round of the Region 7-4A championship tournament at Allatoona High School.

Both Cartersville and Allatoona — the top two seeds — won in straight sets.

In the region semifinals on Thursday evening, host Allatoona will face Southeast Whitfield, and Cartersville plays Dalton.
