Cartersville volleyball advances to second round

Cartersville volleyball defeated visiting Northview Tuesday night in straight sets to advance to the Class 5A second round of the state playoffs.

The Lady Canes won 25-12, 25-15, and 25-20.

Ailee England paced Cartersville with 18 kills and 5 service aces. Layne Condra and Grace Merritt finished with 12 and 11 digs, respectively while Lily Gochee added 33 assists.

Cartersville advances to play at Region 1-AAAAA champion Veterans Saturday.
